Day 12: Tawang
Visit the 400 year old Tawang Monastery in the morning, experience the lamas praying, interact with them. Also visit Ani Gompa or nunnery. In the afternoon visit a Monpa tribal village. Walk in the market and pick up local handicrafts.
Day 13: Tawang - Bomdila, 135 km/6 hours
Drive up to 14000 ft where you cross the Sela Pass, highest motorable pass in northeast India before going down to Bomdila at 2469 mtrs. On the way visit Jaswantgarh, an Indo-China war memorial and the beautiful Nuranang Falls.
Day 14: Bomdila – Nameri, 125 km/ 5 hours
Drive down to the Assam plains and check into a comfortable tented accommodation, 125 km/ 5 hours. Afternoon take a nature-walk with one of the camp guides along the Bhorelli river. This is an important birding area. People interested can do a jungle trek on Nameri National Park that lies just across the river.
Day 15: Nameri – Guwahati, 215 km/ 5 hours
River rafting (gentle and with expert boatmen steering your raft) in the morning and then drive back to Guwahati, 215 km/ 5 hours.
Day 16: Guwahati Airport
Fly out from Guwahati.
